Piper Bridwell - Up in the Clouds

Up in the Clouds is a unique work by Piper Bridwell, created in 2025 using oil on canvas. The composition features a delicate vertical gradient that shifts from a clear blue at the top to a soft pink at the base, suggesting an ethereal atmosphere consistent with the artist’s visual language, which is deeply inspired by faith and a sense of spiritual gratitude.

Twelve oval forms, arranged in an orderly grid, emerge from the surface through the use of dense, textured palette knife work. As in many of her works, Bridwell seems to evoke a contemplative dimension in which color and material become a silent means of communication between artist and viewer.

The work fully reflects Bridwell’s pictorial identity: a controlled and spiritually driven use of color, an essential composition, and a painting gesture that is both intense and measured. Biography of Piper Bridwell

Piper Bridwell was born in 1982 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Raised in the studio of her mother, sculptor and professional painter, she has always been surrounded by art and creativity but only as an adult she begins to try her hand at painting.

Piper thus becomes a self-taught artist, starting to experiment with color and with all possible styles and then finally succeeding in finding her artistic voice.

Piper Bridwell and her deep faith

Piper realizes her works by drawing inspiration from her deep faith and her gratitude to God.

The fusion of bright colors to create bright and bright backgrounds is a reflection of the way she hopes to live her life. The use of color, made with brushstrokes or thick spatulas on the canvas, is the way in which the artist conveys his gratitude for what God has done in his life.

Piper Bridwell often hides within her works symbols or words that speak to her as she creates, allowing viewers to explore and appreciate every little nuance of the work.
